Bristow Mather Architects

Effortless Precision

We believe the experience of creating a home should be as considered as the home itself. Behind the calm, seamless process our clients see is a rigorously organized framework — one that manages complexity with precision while leaving room for spontaneity and discovery.

Our project management is world-class, but never rigid. We handle the orchestration — the consultants, the details, the timelines — so our clients can focus on the pleasure of ideas taking shape. It’s a process defined by clarity and trust: highly structured where it needs to be, quietly flexible where creativity calls for it.

The result is a design journey that feels effortless — disciplined yet fluid, guided yet open — leading to spaces that are not only beautifully made, but born from a process that was equally refined.

Leslie Bristow Mather, AIA

Founding Partner & Design Principal

Leslie brings two decades of experience on projects spanning New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Michigan, Florida, and Atlanta. An artist from an early age, she approaches each commission with a focus on livable, quietly polished spaces—guided by a refined simplicity and a deep attention to craftsmanship at every scale. She founded Bristow Mather in 2019, following a career with some of the country’s leading residential architects, interior designers, and retailers.

Raised in downtown Chicago, she brings an innate appreciation for density, scale, and urban living, while also understanding how architecture must thoughtfully adapt as sites open to and engage with the surrounding landscape. She lives with her husband, James, and their young son, August, in Atlanta’s Morningside neighborhood.

Leslie earned her undergraduate degree from the College of the Holy Cross, majoring in Studio Art with a concentration in Architectural Studies, and received her Master of Architecture from Cornell University. Leslie is a licensed Architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
