Completed in 1964, Mies van der Rohe's final residential project rises above Chicago's lakefront. Sixty years later, Bristow Mather was commissioned to reimagine one of its penthouse apartments for a couple trading thirty years in a single-family home for something more considered — a home scaled to the next chapter of their lives and designed to remain accessible and comfortable as that chapter unfolds.
